Adversity

Today has been a great Sunday. Chase was asked to give a talk in another ward today, like most returned missionaries, so my dad, Landon, and I went to listen. A boy that I went to school with was also giving his farewell talk for his mission. They were both asked to speak on adversity, and let me tell you, they were great talks! When we got home from church I did the usual (lunch and nap) for a Sunday afternoon. Since lunch I have been reading all of the conference talks from General Conference. Amazing.

When I got to President Dieter F. Uchtdorf's talk on what matters most there was a line that hit me: "It is good advice to slow down a little, steady the course, and focus on the essentials when experiencing adverse conditions."

All I have wanted the past couple of months is for things to change, to feel contentment again. I realize now that I need to take a step back and let things happen. Take in as much as I can and grow through this experience. Be grateful.

Three months ago a family from Rigby lost their little girl. I have been following their blog, they are two incredible people. It is people like Patrick and Ashley Sullenger who make me want to be a better person. I look up to them so much! From now one, it is one day at a time. Taking time and taking in everything I can. I love my life, I have incredible friends and family, I am truly blessed.
