2012

I rang in the New Year with my handsome boyfriend, my best friend, and her boyfriend. It was perfect! Me and Daniel watched tv with my parents for a little while until Nichole and Dan made it here from Firth, then we headed to dinner at Wingers, played a couple games of bowling, played games at my house, then watched the ball drop. I got a beyond perfect New Years Kiss, and I have a feeling 2012 is going to be a great year! :)

it's kind of a funny story...part 2.

well you know how i met this boy at school, cutting his hair?

well....he is kinda my boyfriend now. yep :) i am one VERY happy girl!

he spent his half day off work by bringing me a sprite(my favorite) at school, and getting a manicure(that i needed for my objectives, he is a real trooper), then after he got off work, he came over, we ate dinner and played games with my family, then went to crazy mike's (the movie store that pretty much knows us by name now), and back to his place where we watched a movie, and talked.

yeah, he is the sweetest! :)

not gonna lie.

I had one amazing day! :) spent the afternoon and night with one great guy, who I might be falling kind of hard for :) I seriously didn't want to come home tonight. We went to dinner, went to the movie store, picked out a movie, went to his place and watched it, went back to the movie store and got another, watched it, watched another movie, talked, watched teen mom 2, then talked some more. I love spending time with him. My mouth hurts so bad from smiling so much, and I think the best part about it all is I'm not scared at all.

2011 in review.

2011 was a good year. not a huge life-changing year, and not a dull year. some things that happened this year:

-i moved out, again. me and one of my good friends, beth, decided to move in together. we had some amazing times, trying times, and absolutely crazy times. we moved in with 3 other girls, and our apartment was....oh, complicated. there was lots of arguments, crying sessions, shouting fights, roommate slumber parties, clothes exchanges, and lots of venting sessions. although we didn't all get along all the time, each one of those girls taught me great lessons, and i will never forget each of them for that.

-i dated, a lot. i was thinking last night about the boys i dated this year, the ones i went on one date with, or a few, or even exclusively dated. they are all SO different. i got hurt once or twice this year, i hurt a boy once or twice, but all in all, i had good times and learned a lot. i went on blind dates, i tried new things, i kissed a few boys, and i overcame a lot of fears.

-i tried a lot of new things. bullet bike rides, drifting, dirtbiking, movies in the middle of nowhere on a projector screen, bunny hunting, off roading, rodeos, lots of shooting, fairs, babysitting 4 little girls for an ENTIRE weekend, nannying, made a homemade gingerbread house, country dancing, crazy dates, i was the manager of BYUI's float in TWO parades, and i went through a cowgirl phase.

-crazy things happened. i got my appendix out, burnt my leg REALLY bad on a bullet bike exhaust, became an aunt for the second time, changed my hair too many times to count, d let me drive his duramax (even if it was just down the street), i conquered fears, completed 3 tv series (the hills, veronica mars, and the gates), my brother got married, i went to great concerts, spent way too much money, had too many bonfires to count, and i started beauty school.

-i did things i probably shouldn't have. stayed out way too late, kissed boys i shouldn't have, didn't wear my seat belt a couple times, hung out with multiple people i shouldn't have, and got in lots of fights with one stupid boy too many times.

2012 will be a good year, i am sure of it. i have cleaned up my life a lot, got rid of those dumb people who hurt me or used me, and i'm starting yet another new chapter in my life. i'm excited for what is to come.

lessons.

after an amazing talk with one of my great friends from school the other day, i realized how much in my life i need to change. she is getting married in a week and a half in the mesa arizona temple. we talked about the temple and how excited we both are to be sealed to our future husbands and families there, and how much of a blessing it is. we cried, and honestly, everything we talked about was exactly what i needed to here, the push that i needed to change my ways. i'm not saying i have done horrible things, i haven't at all, i just have been struggling a little bit. tonight i starting reading general conference talks, i just needed some guidance. i have been struggling with friends lately, being hurt by friends and boys i have dated, and truly trying to find me, and figure God's plan for me.

lesson #1: have charity. President Monson teaches: “Charity is having patience with someone who has let us down. It is resisting the impulse to become offended easily. It is accepting weaknesses and shortcomings. It is accepting people as they truly are. It is looking beyond physical appearances to attributes that will not dim through time. It is resisting the impulse to categorize others.”

lesson #2:  "An acceptable sacrifice is when we give up something good for something of far greater worth." -President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

lesson #3: "Never stop striving for the best that is within you. Never stop hoping for all of the righteous desires of your heart. But don’t close your eyes and hearts to the simple and elegant beauties of each day’s ordinary moments that make up a rich, well-lived life." -President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

lesson #4: President Dieter F. Uchtdorf taught five valuable lessons in his Forget Me Not talk in the last general conference, they are; 1: forget not to be patient with yourself, 2: forget not the difference between a good sacrifice and a foolish sacrifice, 3: forget not to be happy now, 4: forget not the “why” of the gospel, 5: forget not that the Lord loves you.
