alright. vent sesh.
after dealing with the stupid mess of dating i decided i have multiple feelings that i need to blog about and remember. this is mostly for me, but take what you want from it, if anything.
#1- change. it never happens.
no amount of time is going to change you into the person that the other person thinks you should be. you are who you are. and maybe that means you will be that person for someone other than who you are with at the time.
#2- believe it or not the break-up phase helps you learn the most.
seeing that person how they really are, how they really react in different situations has been a blessing almost. that "on a break" stage has been a huge help EVERY time, as weird as that is.
#3- expand your "type".
sometimes that is the best way to know what you really want. dating a variety helps you to figure out what is best for you. and maybe try to stop falling for the "bad boys". whoops.
#4- remember, sometimes what is best right now, might not be what is best forever.
it doesn't always last forever...well, until you find that one.

#5- feel what you want to feel.
if you want to be sad, be sad. if you want to be happy, be happy. if you want to listen to man-hating songs, do it. feel how you want to feel, don't let anyone tell you that you shouldn't feel how you want.
#6- with all of this said....bitterness never was happiness.
as bad as all this may sound. i'm really getting over the initial bitterness of finding out someone wasn't who i thought they were, or who they made me think they were. one day a man will finally show me that all men aren't tools and all of this man-hating bitterness will disappear :)

to you, boy:
why do you make it so hard to get over everything? our time was short and sweet, why can't my feelings be the same? even after everything i know now, knowing how much of a jerk you can be, i still can't get over everything you said and did. why you wanna make me keep wanting you? why do you have to ask my friends how i'm doing? don't tell me you want to hang out sometime soon, don't patronize me with lies, be a man. i wish you the best, i really do, but i almost hope that karma bites you right back.
sincerely,
a somewhat bitter miss lise

ReplyDeletei couldn't agree more. that is something i have reaaaally learned this last little while. i always find myself attracted to a certain 'type' of boy but when it comes down to it, i really like boys who are nearly opposite of what i would pick out of a crowd. it's so important to date anyone and everyone to find who you truly like. dating is no easy but it will all be worth it in the end.
