1.1.11

Well, it's a new year, and those are one of my favorite things! :)

So, this year, I'm going to LIVE. Do what I want.
Become a better person, serve others, and be happy!
(and no more re-living the past, just remember what I learned from it)

I love my life, and I sure live a good one.

Happy New Year! :)

two thousand and ten in a nutshell

2010 was full of so many memories; good, bad, scary, hilarious, exciting, and sad.
I have grown ten-fold in the last 365 days.

Let's start at the beginning..

January: I was a barely 17 year old moving out on my own, attending college full-time, working part-time, and playing too much. January was the beginning of some great times. Snowmobiling, working on trucks with the boys, going to Lava Hot Springs, making memories with my roommates, going on dates, learning about living in the "real world", taking on a ton of responsibility, and realizing that I am in charge of myself and where I go in my life.

February: I played way too much, school was becoming less of a big deal, I met someone who would change my life (though I didn't know it yet), I had made so many new friends, I was loving being on my own, but I was starting to find out how hard life can get. I drove to St. Anthony almost every night to hang out with the boys, and we had too many good times to count.

March: Everything was slowly, but surely, starting to change this month. That someone who I had only met a month prior, became someone I was talking to (texting) on a daily basis, skyping, and asking for advice. Although he was at home, and I was at school, we became really close friends. The social aspect of my life became way too important to me, and my grades showed it.

April: My life really changed. I can't really explain it all without people feeling bad, so yeah. Basically I made a dumb choice, and it changed every thing in my life. After that moment, nothing would be the same again. Most people wouldn't think it would make a difference, but for me it did. And honestly, I wouldn't be where I am right now if I hadn't. Although feelings were hurt, tears were shed, and people became angry, I don't regret it. I moved back home, and I was figuring out what I needed to do for the next semester. I felt like I should move into a new apartment complex, so that is what I did. I had some fun roommates, and finally met that someone in person. Me and my roommates had some good times, well, when I was actually home.

May: That someone started becoming my best friend. We hung out all the time, going on drives, going on dates, going long boarding, and just getting to know each other. So fun! I starting working 30+ hours a week, I started trying harder to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, I lost friends, I cried a lot, I prayed more, I become closer to my Heavenly Father, I found out that people lie no matter who it hurts, and my new life was starting.
June: Life was getting crazy, fun, exciting, and frustrating. I knew what I needed to do, but I just couldn't get myself to do it. I started questioning what I should be doing at this point in my life, and I was going through the hardest time in my life so far. My family and best friends were telling me what I should do, but I didn't listen (I wish I would have now ha).

July: My best friend moved home to get ready to serve his mission, I decided to transfer schools, I moved back home, I quit my job, my brother came home from his mission, and I became an auntie. Needless to say, a lot changed this month.

August: My best friend left on his mission, I started becoming better friends with Stephen, I looked more into the other school I was going to go to, decided against it, and decided to go back to BYU-I. I started looking to find another job, I was hanging out with Stephen a lot, and was figuring out what I wanted to go into.

September: Not too much happened this month, life was going by just fine, I hung out with Stephen and Jake on a daily basis, and I was making new friends.
October: I basically sat at home every day, cleaning the house doing laundry, all that fun stuff, then at night I would hang out with Beth, Felicia, or the boys. I had an awesome Halloween, and loved the start of missionary Mondays.

November: I finally turned the big 1-8, and I had an amazing birthday! Read about it's awesomeness here and here and here. Basically I went to two amazing concerts with my best friends, and they threw me an awesome surprise party!

December: I got a job nannying, I made some awesome memories with my family, drove on some terrifying roads, and started getting ready for another year at college.
Thank you everyone who was involved this year, I love you all.

I can't wait to see where 2011 will take me!
Happy New Year! almost.
hugs and kisses,

quick catch up

for all my recent followers i want to catch you up on my life a little bit. first off, i just recently turned 18 years old. i have been in college for about a little over year now, and i am loving it. i hated school, from kindergarten to my very short high school (about a year) days i faked sick, or sluffed a lot. i didn't like my classmates, the constant drama, plus, i had chronic migraines (those were not faking). i went two trimesters my freshman year, then got a relapse of mono and then influenza. sophomore i went one trimester, if you can even count it, i faked and sluffed...a lot. can ya tell how much i hated my school? ha.

i lived in a small town where everyone thought it was their business to know every detail about every single persons life. it was hard, you could hardly do anything without a judgement. not saying i was a bad teenager, because i really wasn't, i just didn't hang out with the right kind of people. and honestly, i just don't think high school was for me.

anyway, after that mess of high school, when i decided to move on, i took online classes to graduate early. i hated them. so my parents and i decided that getting my GED was a better idea. that summer right after i turned 16 i got my GED, took my ACT, and applied to BYU-I. sure enough i got accepted. i started that fall and have been going since. i have been loving life ever since, well mostly ;) i love college so much! it is a blast, and i have met so many new people that have helped me change for the better.

so that is my life as of now. it would be my senior year of high school right now, and honestly i have no regrets about deciding to get out of there. i absolutely love where i am at in my life! :)

catch up on the wisdom teeth:
ouchy!
they didn't hurt too bad yesterday, i was taking two codeine pills, but today they are really hurting. i think i am going to take two the next couple times, then switch to one. it's hard for me to take codeine in the first place because it makes me nauseous, dizzy, feel like i'm floating, and not sleep. good thing about it though is that does take the pain away, but i want to get off of it as soon as i can.

i used to complain a lot, but now i hate to complain about things. it makes me feel bad 'cause i really could have it so much worse. i hope i haven't sounded like i have been complaining the last couple days, i really have been lucky i haven't hurt that bad.

i hope everyone has a wonderful tuesday!

thanks again for ALL of the kind thoughts, you guys are the best!! =]
xoxo,
elise

then we went to big 5 and shopped around for a little while, then went back to Beth's and hung out for a while.

our school, BYUI, did a flash mob/lip dub thing a couple weeks ago and they were "premiering" it on campus so we decided to go to that. it was awesome! when they put the video on youtube i will post it.
after the premier me and Beth went to a dance party one of my friends, Joy,  invited us to, it was super fun! then i dropped off Beth and went and talked to Stephen, then came home.
