new new new

So I decided that I need to start updating more often, cause I super miss it.

Newness:
I got a new job, a job on campus for next semester. I am so excited, but I will miss the kids I nanny so much!

I registered for classes today, what a pain! I am so excited for my classes though, I can't wait to start taking my major classes FINALLY!

I am on the road to losing weight finally, I am starting to finally see results(even if others can't, yet :) ) and it is seriously the best.

I seriously have the best family. Okay, so that really isn't new, but I seriously get more grateful for them everyday.

simple

setting #1: medical terminology class

just after getting done with a quick quiz i overheard the following conversation...

guy to my right: "so what are we going to do now? we should watch a movie or something."

guy in front of me: "you do realize we are focusing on the male reproductive system, right?"

haha so great!

setting #2: testing center

i went in to take a test last week, in the 10 minutes i waited in line 3 people commented on how much they love my hair. talk about making my day!

setting #3: the beautiful byu-idaho campus

there is never a day that goes by when i am not walking on campus and some random person smiles at me. it's just kind of how our campus is, it is beautiful.

it's these simple things that totally make my day, and make me realize how blessed i really am.

hugs and kisses,

accomplishment

I have already accomplished so much today that I am allowing myself some Facebook/blogging/tumblr/Netflix time.
So for starters....
life is good. I honestly have been super stressed, but I am finally starting to feel better. Giving myself plenty of time to finish what I need to and what not, it feels great. I'm telling myself that I need to do what I want and quit doing what everyone else wants me to, and it is so great. I love life!

Best feeling for me right now? Seeing those percentages of my grades keep going up. So good!

Remember this Utah trip? Well here are some more lovely pictures :)

go away, read some books.

Nacho Libre quote above...if you didn't catch on to that :)

Life has been crazy hectic! So busy, but I am loving it.
I feel like a horrible blogger because I haven't commented on anyone's blogs in like two weeks, and have hardly blogged on my own...forgive me?

My life has literally consisted of school, work, homework, hanging out with a cute boy, more school, more homework, hanging out with my amazing roommates, making awesome memories, and basically just an all around good time.

Next week starts the week of no procrastinating, actually updating my blog, and commenting on others, and finishing up as much homework as I can early in the week
Here are some pictures from the last week...enjoy :)
And have a great Saturday!

my bad.

So I was going to catch up on blogging yesterday...obviously that didn't happen. I have a few spare minutes before I run off to a fireside with my roomies :)

This week has been a crazy, busy, exciting, entertaining, exhausting week. I have completely loved it. I forgot how much I love being busy.
My first week of nannying was great, the kids are the cutest and so funny.
My first week back at school was awesome. I have great classes, great teachers, and have already met a ton of new friends.
My first week living in my new apartment has been incredible. I absolutely love my roommates, they are about the nicest, caring, most hilarious girls ever. We are already great friends!

Friday night I went on a date with a boy Jake set me up with, and Jake took my roommate.
We made dinner, walked around campus, went bowling, then watched The Other Guys. It was a blast!

Saturday a bunch of us went sledding, then made dinner, then played games in our lounge/clubhouse, then watched Nacho Libre...it was a great day!

Soon I will get pictures up of my apartment all decorated...but here are some pictures from out Saturday.

PS I apologize for not commenting on blogs...last week was crazy. I will catch up on homework and what not and definitely catch up on everyone's blogs.
Thank you for all the sweet comments, and support. I love you all.

hugs & kisses,
elise hymas

i love my life

Life is great, minus the fact I have had ZERO time for blogging :(
Early mornings and late nights with no time in between is my favorite though.

Life in a nut shell right now: classes are great, my roommates are amazing, my apartment is a adorable, work is so fun, I have a date tonight, and me and my roommates are going sledding and making dinner tomorrow with a bunch of friends.

Basically, I am loving life.

More posts later, and I will go through and comment on blogs, I miss blogging!
Love you all :)

two thousand and ten in a nutshell

2010 was full of so many memories; good, bad, scary, hilarious, exciting, and sad.
I have grown ten-fold in the last 365 days.

Let's start at the beginning..

January: I was a barely 17 year old moving out on my own, attending college full-time, working part-time, and playing too much. January was the beginning of some great times. Snowmobiling, working on trucks with the boys, going to Lava Hot Springs, making memories with my roommates, going on dates, learning about living in the "real world", taking on a ton of responsibility, and realizing that I am in charge of myself and where I go in my life.

February: I played way too much, school was becoming less of a big deal, I met someone who would change my life (though I didn't know it yet), I had made so many new friends, I was loving being on my own, but I was starting to find out how hard life can get. I drove to St. Anthony almost every night to hang out with the boys, and we had too many good times to count.

March: Everything was slowly, but surely, starting to change this month. That someone who I had only met a month prior, became someone I was talking to (texting) on a daily basis, skyping, and asking for advice. Although he was at home, and I was at school, we became really close friends. The social aspect of my life became way too important to me, and my grades showed it.

April: My life really changed. I can't really explain it all without people feeling bad, so yeah. Basically I made a dumb choice, and it changed every thing in my life. After that moment, nothing would be the same again. Most people wouldn't think it would make a difference, but for me it did. And honestly, I wouldn't be where I am right now if I hadn't. Although feelings were hurt, tears were shed, and people became angry, I don't regret it. I moved back home, and I was figuring out what I needed to do for the next semester. I felt like I should move into a new apartment complex, so that is what I did. I had some fun roommates, and finally met that someone in person. Me and my roommates had some good times, well, when I was actually home.

May: That someone started becoming my best friend. We hung out all the time, going on drives, going on dates, going long boarding, and just getting to know each other. So fun! I starting working 30+ hours a week, I started trying harder to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, I lost friends, I cried a lot, I prayed more, I become closer to my Heavenly Father, I found out that people lie no matter who it hurts, and my new life was starting.
June: Life was getting crazy, fun, exciting, and frustrating. I knew what I needed to do, but I just couldn't get myself to do it. I started questioning what I should be doing at this point in my life, and I was going through the hardest time in my life so far. My family and best friends were telling me what I should do, but I didn't listen (I wish I would have now ha).

July: My best friend moved home to get ready to serve his mission, I decided to transfer schools, I moved back home, I quit my job, my brother came home from his mission, and I became an auntie. Needless to say, a lot changed this month.

August: My best friend left on his mission, I started becoming better friends with Stephen, I looked more into the other school I was going to go to, decided against it, and decided to go back to BYU-I. I started looking to find another job, I was hanging out with Stephen a lot, and was figuring out what I wanted to go into.

September: Not too much happened this month, life was going by just fine, I hung out with Stephen and Jake on a daily basis, and I was making new friends.
October: I basically sat at home every day, cleaning the house doing laundry, all that fun stuff, then at night I would hang out with Beth, Felicia, or the boys. I had an awesome Halloween, and loved the start of missionary Mondays.

November: I finally turned the big 1-8, and I had an amazing birthday! Read about it's awesomeness here and here and here. Basically I went to two amazing concerts with my best friends, and they threw me an awesome surprise party!

December: I got a job nannying, I made some awesome memories with my family, drove on some terrifying roads, and started getting ready for another year at college.
Thank you everyone who was involved this year, I love you all.

I can't wait to see where 2011 will take me!
Happy New Year! almost.
hugs and kisses,
elise
